Oppenheimer

Well, this is the first movie to which I went to a theater to watch all by myself in my entire life! Not that I liked the review of the movie, nor I am big fan of the director or the actor, or any such thing. Just that this was a true story, and the theater near my home was renovated recently and it was the first time (AFAIK) they were hosting an English movie!

Coming to the movie itself - well, it is good but could have been better. The narration weaves from 1950s to 1920s to 1950s to 1940s and back to 1930s and again to 1950s, etc. making it extremely hard to follow. The sequence of events are enormous and it becomes hard to understand. Added to that, there was no captions and the continuous background score made it hard to hear as well. The true story of Oppenheimer itself is complicated, and the director has made it even more complicated. On top of this are the usage of words like Leftist, Communist, Fascism, Antisemitism, etc. which, personally for me, are too much! Anyways, with great difficulty, I had to understand, and am glad I understood, at least! Technicality of film-making is good, of course, and upto Nolan's standards (Interstellar, Inception, etc.), but I sure wish he will make it easy for the audience one day!
